Flying Low, Thinking High

This morning I flew a short local mission just outside of town - nothing particularly special in terms of location, just some semi-rural homes dotted across a valley. But what struck me today was how much potential there is in the “ordinary.” A simple farmhouse, a narrow country lane, or even the angle of a shadow at 8:30 am can completely transform a shot.
It reminded me that drone photography isn’t always about capturing the grand, sweeping vistas. Sometimes it’s about perspective - flying low over a hedge line, tracing the curve of a driveway, or hovering just above a rooftop to show detail and context in one frame.
As I work to build this business, I’m learning that clients often don’t need drama - they need clarity, beauty, and a sense of place. That’s what I want to keep chasing: meaningful images that show how a property sits within the landscape. Not just pictures - stories from the air.
Today’s photo is of a plot of land that a client needed photographing for documentation and planning purposes. Clean, clear visuals that show layout and boundaries - simple, but important work.
